Bala Ali of the All Progressives Congress ( APC) has been declared winner for Dass Constituency in the Bauchi State House of Assembly in Saturday’s byelection
INEC’S Returning Officer, Professor Ahmed Mohammed of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University said the APC candidate polled a total of 12,209 votes to defeat Lawal Umar of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) who had 11,062 votes.
The byelection in Bauchi State was a clash of supremacy between Governor Bala Mohammed of the PDP and his arch rival, Yakubu Dogara, former Speaker of the House of Representatives who recently found solace in the All Progressives Congress.
Earlier, on Saturday, there were allegations of vote buying by governmentt officials though that was reportedly dispelled as” attempted and not caught in the act”.by the Police in the state.
