The Speaker of the Imo State Assembly,Chiji Collins has been impeached.
Collins was removed on Friday during plenary over allegations of financial impropriety,high handedness and gross misconduct.
His removal followed a motion of impeachment supported by 19 out of the 27 members of the House.
Consequently, the lawmakers elected Paul Emeziem from Onuimo Local Government Area as the new Speaker.
