The South West Security Outfit,Amotekun has seized 42cows belonging to herders who destroyed more than 8 farmlands and attempted to kill farmers who resisted them.
The Commander of the security outfit in Ondo State,Tunji Adeleye disclosed to newsmen that the security arm on getting information from aggrieved villagers whose farmlands were destroyed by the herdsmen, swung into action to rescue the farmers and their farmlands.
According to Adeleye, The Amotekun in collaboration with the Agro-Rangers of the Nigerian Civil Defence Corp, NSCDC moved to the scene of the attack but on sighting them,the herdsmen opened fire on them but they were overwhelmed by the security forces and ran away
The Amotekun said that the herders would pay for the destruction they caused and would be prosecuted.
